IMD3901 Milestone 02

February 8th, 2022 Overview This week we got to meet with the Iohai:io students and get a better understanding of their scope for their RFP on Canoe Journey. Our team met up after the discussion to talk about what we thought, and we met again on the 7th to work on our Proposal.

Challenges The most difficult thing so far was determining how our VR experience if going to represent the Iohai:io students vision of their story . Thankfully, during our discussion, we discovered their main goal was to make the user understand what they went through from how beautiful the pre-contact era was, to how messy and ugly things were in the post-contact era, and finally the present and how they remain thankful for everything.

Successes Along with determining the most important visions for the experience we are trying to induce, we plan on designing a low-poly environment in which the user views from their canoe. Some of the most important aspects from the pre-contact era was natures beauty, tall trees, many animals, their medicine, lacrosse, the water song, thanksgiving address, how horrible the post contact era was with longhouse fires, raids, the Hoof Lady, and how they remain thankful in the present with Mother Earth, and constellations. We plan on having most of, if not all of the journey take place from the canoe.

Next Steps Moving into next week, we still need to hammer down our Proposal and Alpha presentation due on the 11th. As for the meat and potatoes of the project, our developers plan on working on the user interactions and or 3D modelers will begin designing and modelling some assets.
