IMD 3901 Milestone 04

March 1st, 2022

Overview

This week was reading week so thankfully we had a bit of extra time to spend on our VR experience rather than all of our other assignments. We still met during our usual Wednesday meeting time, even though it was reading week, we just wanted to touch base and make sure everyone is still humming along as planned.

Challenges

We have some new challenges and successes from the feedback we obtained from the Algonquin students. Some challenges consisted of a little bit more marine life, such as beavers and turtles, thankfully we already have fish and planned for the wildlife they requested in bears and deer. Lastly, they would like more interaction with the environment, compared to just the artifacts.

Successes

Some of the positive feedback we received was that they liked our choice of artifacts, the day night cycle and our plan to include some narration, as though they requested to keep it limited. We are all on track with what we had originally planned so I would say that is also a success.

Media

This week I got to model a canoe, along with some fish! I opted for a more traditional canoe style and 4 different fish models to add some variety.

Next Steps

Progressing forward, I'd like to model some more of the important artifacts, as well as texture everything I've modelled for Beta day that is coming up in 2 weeks time.
